A quoin refers to the external corner or angle of a building, accentuated by stone blocks or bricks that differ in size, color, or material from the surrounding walls. Originally used for structural reinforcement, quoins are now primarily decorative, adding visual strength, texture, and contrast to masonry façades. They can be found in various architectural styles, especially Georgian and Renaissance.
