Set within the ridge landscape of Surajkund, The Delhi Ridges reimagines large-scale urban housing as a self-sustaining community embedded within its natural setting. Conceived as a 52-acre integrated residential development, the project responds to the site’s dramatic topography, ecological context, and proximity to one of the region’s historic water systems to create a contemporary model for high-density living.
Rather than imposing a conventional development framework onto the terrain, the design works with the landform. Natural slopes are preserved and integrated into the planning strategy, allowing movement, infrastructure, and community spaces to evolve in response to the existing contours. A historic kund within the site, linked to the larger Surajkund landscape, has been reimagined as a rainwater harvesting reservoir, transforming a cultural landmark into a vital ecological asset. Water, landscape, and circulation are conceived as interconnected systems that shape everyday life across the development.
The project combines passive environmental strategies with resource-efficient infrastructure. High levels of daylight access, energy-conscious building envelopes, renewable energy generation, and integrated water management systems contribute to a significantly reduced environmental footprint while enhancing resident comfort and wellbeing.
The development comprises four residential towers organised around a mix of compact homes, grande homes, and villa apartments, supported by a clubhouse and neighbourhood retail. Together, these elements create an inclusive and intergenerational community where housing, recreation, and daily amenities are woven into a connected urban experience. The Delhi Ridges presents a vision for future urban living in India, where technological innovation is balanced by environmental stewardship, social connectivity, and a deep responsiveness to place.
