This project was conceived at a time when the Indian economy was seeing a paradigm shift. The nation was moving towards liberalization and diluting its socialist economy. A striated pattern emerged due to the choice of 9 meter narrow floor plates that were designed to allow 100% daylight penetration. This project gave the firm its 1st Indian Institute of Architects Award, the highest honor for architects in India. With this project, the firm set out to define new idioms of workspace using local craft whilst creating a strong new character of indigenous design.
